Ophthalmic Scrub Nurse / ODP

Are you an experienced Ophthalmic Scrub Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) looking for your next agency opportunity? This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern operating theatre, assisting with a variety of ophthalmic procedures while delivering exceptional patient care. The Role As an Ophthalmic Scrub Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the surgical team by preparing theatres, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing expert scrub assistance during ophthalmic procedures. Key Responsibilities • Scrub for a range of ophthalmic procedures, including cataract surgery. • Prepare and check surgical instruments and specialist ophthalmic equipment. • Maintain strict infection prevention and aseptic techniques. • Support surgeons and theatre teams throughout procedures. • Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to clinical governance standards. • Deliver safe, high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgery. Requirements • Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC). • Previous experience working as an Ophthalmic Scrub Practitioner. • Competent in cataract surgery and other ophthalmic procedures. • Strong knowledge of theatre protocols and infection control. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Right to work in the UK. Desirable • NHS theatre experience. • Immediate availability. • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
