What we collect
When you submit a rate we store the work details you give us: trade, task, fix stage, the rate itself, and a rough location (town or area — never an address). That's it. No name, no email, no phone number, no account, no file uploads — we deliberately take nothing that could identify you.
The only technical extra is a one-way scrambled fingerprint of the submitting connection, kept purely to stop spam floods. It can't be turned back into an address or a person.
Saved jobs, alerts and your anonymous board
Saving a job or setting a rate alert works without an account. We set one strictly-necessary cookie — jb_sid, a random ID that means nothing outside this site — and store your saved jobs, alerts and alert matches against it. No name, no email. We don't try to identify you, though a random ID plus a hashed IP is technically pseudonymous rather than truly anonymous. Clearing your cookies starts you fresh.
Apply clicks
When you hit Apply we pass you straight to the source job board and log that the click happened: which provider, which listing, when. We use those counts to report traffic to the job boards that supply the ads. The record is tied to the same pseudonymous ID — we never attach your name, email, or account to it.
Job title tracking requests
If you ask us to track your job title on the homepage, we store the job title you type and nothing else — no email, no name, no way to know who asked. The most-requested roles join the tracked index first.
What we show
Only aggregated ranges — low, typical and high across multiple submissions. One person's rate is never displayed on its own, and we hold rates back until there's enough data to blend them in.
Analytics & cookies
We use basic, cookie-free page-view analytics to see which pages are useful. There are no advertising trackers and no cross-site anything. Details on the cookies page.
What we never do
We don't sell or share your data, we don't pass details to recruiters or agencies, and we don't email you — we can't, we don't have your email.
Removal
Want a submission taken down? Contact us with roughly when you submitted and what the rate was, and we'll remove it. Saved jobs and alerts you can delete yourself, right on your board.
