We are currently recruiting for an experienced Waste & Cleansing Driver (HGV Class 2) to join a busy local authority team on a temporary contract with an immediate start available. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-conscious driver with experience operating HGV vehicles within waste, recycling, cleansing, or environmental services. Role Details: • Position: Waste & Cleansing Driver • Rate: 20.21 per hour (Umbrella) • Contract: 3 Months (potential extension) • Hours: 2:00pm – 10:00pm • Start: ASAP Key Responsibilities: • Safely operate and drive HGV Class 2 vehicles on designated collection routes. • Carry out daily vehicle inspections and safety checks. • Lead and supervise a small crew, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely. • Adhere to Health & Safety procedures and road traffic regulations at all times. • Use in-cab technology and systems to record service delivery and incidents. • Deliver high standards of customer service while representing the Council professionally. • Assist with waste and cleansing operations as required. Essential Requirements: • Valid Category C (HGV Class 2) Driving Licence. • Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card. • Experience operating HGV vehicles within a waste, cleansing, recycling, highways, environmental, or similar service. • Experience conducting vehicle safety inspections and maintenance checks. • Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions. • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays when required.
