HGV Class 1 Driver

HGV Class 1 Driver – West Bromwich People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in West Bromwich, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and genuine opportunities to grow and progress. This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver. Shifts • Thursday to Monday • Afternoon starts between 14:00 and 17:00 Rates of Pay • 17.20 per hour (basic) • 20.00 per hour after 20:00 (Monday to Saturday) • 22.00 per hour (Sunday) Benefits • Excellent hourly rates • Ongoing work • Weekly pay • On-site canteen • Training provided • Immediate starts • Employee well-being programme Day-to-Day Duties • Carrying out RDC or brewery deliveries (curtain-side, no handball required) • Operating and driving Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles safely and efficiently • Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections • Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly • Adhering to traffic laws and regulations • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management • Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo as required • Delivering cages to DCs and supermarkets • Completing up to 2 drops per shift Essential Skills • Valid UK Category CE driving licence • Minimum of 12 month's experience driving CE vehicles • Valid UK Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph card • No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no major endorsement codes • Good level of spoken and written English • Punctual with excellent time-keeping • Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations • Effective communication skills Desirable Experience • Previous commercial driving experience • Previous multi-drop delivery experience Training Provided • Driver assessment must be completed before starting Contact: If you are ready to take on this opportunity as an HGV Class 1 Driver, please apply today and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch.
