School Chef Manager – Primary School (Bushey, WD23 1SR) Location: Bushey, Hertfordshire (WD23 1SR) Hours: 30 hours per week (Term Time Only) Salary: 14.50 – 15.00 per hour Contract Type: Permanent About the Role We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Chef Manager to lead the kitchen at a small, friendly primary school in the Bushey area. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to approximately 150 pupils per day, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming dining experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a school environment and values work-life balance, with term-time hours only. Key Responsibilities • Plan, prepare, and serve fresh, balanced meals in line with school food standards • Manage all aspects of the kitchen, including food ordering, stock control, and budgeting • Lead and support kitchen staff to ensure efficient daily service • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness • Monitor portion control and reduce food waste • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and stakeholders • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies About You • Proven experience as a Chef or Chef Manager (ideally in a school or similar setting) • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (Level 2/3 Food Safety preferred) • Excellent organisational and leadership skills • Passion for preparing healthy, appetising meals for children • Ability to work independently and manage a small team • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) What We Offer • Competitive hourly rate ( 14.50 – 15.00 per hour) • Term-time only role – enjoy school holidays off • Supportive working environment • Opportunity to make a positive impact on children’s wellbeing How to Apply If you are a passionate Chef looking for a rewarding role within a school setting, we would love to hear from you.
