Healthcare Assistant – Swindon
Location: Swindon, Wiltshire Salary: 16 - 18.50 per hour Job type: Temporary Shifts: Days, evenings, nights and weekends available
About the role We are currently recruiting compassionate, reliable and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to work across Swindon. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to patients and service users in a range of settings, including care homes, residential services, supported-living environments and community-based services. This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced care professionals who are passionate about supporting others and making a positive difference in their daily lives.
Key responsibilities Your duties may include: • Supporting individuals with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting • Assisting with mobility, transfers and repositioning • Supporting service users with meals, hydration and daily activities • Providing companionship, reassurance and emotional support • Monitoring and reporting changes in a service user’s health or wellbeing • Maintaining accurate care records and daily notes • Supporting individuals to retain their independence • Following individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures • Maintaining dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times • Working closely with nurses, care teams, families and other healthcare professionals • Supporting with medication where appropriately trained and authorised
Requirements Applicants should have: • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant or Support Worker • A compassionate, patient and respectful approach • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • The ability to work independently and as part of a team • Reliability, flexibility and good time-management skills • An understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and person-centred care • The right to work in the UK A relevant qualification, such as an NVQ or QCF in Health and Social Care, is desirable but not essential. A full UK driving licence may be beneficial for some assignments but is not always required. Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate pre-employment checks, including references and an enhanced DBS check.
