Bricklayer • Pay Rate: 20.00 - 23.00 per hour paye • Location: Bury Council, Bolton, BL2 6RS • Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (2 - 3 months) Bury Council are looking for an experienced Multiskilled Bricklayer to join our team for responsive repairs. This role is ideal for a skilled professional who can deliver high-quality brickwork and associated repairs in both occupied and void properties. Day-to-day of the role: • Carry out bricklaying, blockwork, and stonework repairs to walls, chimneys, garden walls, and structural masonry. • Repoint brickwork, including full-height elevations, chimneys, and isolated sections. • Undertake repairs to defective masonry, including cutting out and rebuilding damaged areas. • Perform groundwork tasks such as small concrete pads, paths, steps, and minor reinstatement work. • Repair and rebuild retaining walls, boundary walls, and external brick structures. • Complete multiskilling duties including plaster patching, rendering, basic joinery, and basic exterior painting. • Accurately complete work orders and request materials digitally, ensuring work complies with safety and quality standards. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Proven experience in bricklaying and general multiskilled repairs. • Competent in using a tablet to update jobs and order materials. • Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points). • Must own battery-powered tools. • Strong customer service skills, especially when working in tenants’ homes. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
